March was a Great Month for People to Gather & Celebrate!
We had lots of great groups celebrate in our banquet room last month. Here are a few of the special occasions that took place:
A group of cousins got together to catch up and celebrate each other.
Bellingham Emblem Club had an appreciation luncheon for their president Donna Hawkins.
Rena Florence (96 years old) and Aleta Bringhurst (94 years old) celebrated with a joint birthday party.

April Greek Name Days
A Greek name day is just what it sounds like; a certain day where everyone with a particular name is honored. It is also referred to as your Saint's Day since most Greek names have a religious origin.
In Greece, a person's name day is often celebrated more than a birthday and much the same with plenty of gifts and lots of sweet treats. It is tradition for the person celebrating their name to prepare all the desserts and open up their home for friends and family to drop by throughout the day for a cup of Greek coffee and a dessert.
The process of deciding which name to give a child involves much thought, but typically follows a precise Greek tradition. The first-born in a family is often given the name of one of the paternal grandparents, thus keeping a long line of the same name alive in a family over many generations.
April does not have very many name days, but here are a few popular names that are celebrated this month:
